OUR COVID-19 VACCINATION ADVOCACY STRATEGY

ICVA believes that COVID-19 vaccination advocacy is an intentional process for addressing public health inequities of the COVID-19 response. ICVA’s advocacy work is a useful strategy to change public perception and attitudes, modify behaviors and mobilize human and financial resources for a safe and affective COVID-19 vaccination program. ICVA pledges to hold authorities accountable for safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines that are equitability distributed with the goal of having a COVID-19 free society. ICVA will achieve this goal by developing and implementing the following strategies.

Awareness Raising

Develop and deliver persuasive, evidence-based and solution-oriented messages to the public, decision-makers, and stakeholders about the need for equity in the development, approval, distribution, and tracking of COVID-19 vaccines.

02

Communication for Behavior Change

Create an enabling environment for effective implementation of policy and practice changes to protect the rights of communities most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to allow their voices to be heard throughout the COVID-19 vaccine development, approval, distribution, and tracking processes.

03

Developing/Sustaining Partnership, Coalitions, and Alliances

Generate organizational support and drive behind an equitable COVID-19 vaccination program. ICVA will work to connect messengers with decision-makers, and utilize a diversity of voices to achieve common advocacy objectives.

ICVA will work to build support for science-based COVID-19 vaccines that instill public trust and confidence which can lead to decreases in vaccine hesitancy and increases in vaccine coverage.

06

Conducting and Disseminating Research/Publications

Illustrate underlying causes and solutions to COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy, and draw recommendations which can be addressed by decision-makers, stakeholders, and the public.

07

Working with Diverse Communities

ICVA believes that all communities are impacted by COVID-19. However, the reality is that some communities are more impacted than others. Thus, ICVA will create a platform so that the voices of communities hardest hit by the virus and stand to benefit the most from a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine will be heard and acted-on by decision-makers and stakeholders.

08

Social Mobilization

Engage multi-levels of society, including those most impacted by COVID-19, as allies and partners in overcoming barriers to participation in COVID-19 vaccine trials, the vaccine approval process, and implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program.

09

Hosting Conferences and Events

Bring together a variety of stakeholders, decision-makers, and community leaders to highlight the causes and identify solutions to inequities in COVID-19 vaccine development and the COVID-19 vaccination program.
